Music fun for kids and adults alike

I wanted to brighten up your Monday with this fun music video from Daddy a Go Go, a rock and roll band created by John Boydston in Atlanta, Ga. Boydston writes and records music for children and families, with an emphasis on the idea that kids like rock music. When he quit his job as a television news producer about 10 years ago to become a stay-at-home dad, he was inspired to make "real" rock music for kids

The music video, featuring a DeKalb County Schools bus, shows Boydston performing his song, “School Bus Driver.”

Daddy a Go Go performed this year for the second time at South by Southwest, the annual music festival in Austin, Texas. Boydston performs with the help of his two sons, ages 16 and 14. Their latest record, "Come On, Get Happy", along with six other CDs, is available for sale from the band’s Website.

In the office of the school bus company that I work for, we have concerns about this video - students standing up on seats, jumping up and down, arms and heads hanging out of the windows, children in the "danger zone" - all things that we work hard to teach children NOT to do for their safety.
Student safety is too important to be compromised for entertainment. This could have been done differently.

I would have to totally agree with Nancy - that was the first thing I noticed about this video when I viewed it.

A group that my wife and I started in 1985 in Rhode Island, (Families Insisting on Safe Student Transportation - FISST), after our daughter was killed by her own school bus, have been fighting the behavier you are displaying for 23 years. Shame on you!

Although the comments before are true, I think that the message of the song should be taken to heart. It is saying to be safe and "mellow" on the bus. I have been driving a school bus for 37 years and feel anything positive to help the kids is worth it. Maybe put a disclaimer at the start of the video so students would know that it is not right to stand on the bus, hang out the windows or be in the danger zone. Then you are doing it all. Getting a message across and being entertaining at the same time.
